It was interesting to read the Times article on A level grades (link included below).

King Edward College has bucked the national trend with nearly half of our year 13 students gaining high grades. Our average is far higher than the national averages quoted in the media and this is down to the herculean efforts made by our staff and students and the support they have been given by parents and carers.
I congratulate everyone involved in ensuring our student success this year and am so pleased that the vast majority of our students have achieved their goals.
We have so much to celebrate it’s great to be a part of such a successful institution.
