Introduction
The BTEC Level 3 course looks at employment opportunities within the Sport and Leisure Industry and will cover a variety of areas such as: coaching, teaching, instructing, health promotion, sports development and fitness and health facilities. The course is designed to suit students wishing to progress onto HE or careers in sporting performance, sports development, coaching, teaching.

The 2 year programme is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Some of your time on the course will consist of practical sport. You will study 18 units.
Mandatory units: Principles of Anatomy and Physiology in Sport, Physiology of Fitness, Assessing Risk in Sport, Fitness Trainingand Programming, Sports Coaching, Sport Development, Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise, Practical Sport.
Core units which may include: Sports Nutrition, Sports injury, Sports Coaching, Psychology for Sport Performance, Exercise, Health and Lifestyle.
Progression Options
Participants successfully completing the course may wish to progress further with education onto Foundation Degrees or Degrees such as Teaching, Sports Science, Sport Studies and Sport Therapy. Alternatively employment within the sports areas such as: Personal Trainer, Sports Coaches, Kids Activity Leaders.
