“I’m very happy with the teachers for my subjects and the way the lessons are instructed. Coming from Yorkshire I didn’t think I would fit in but i’ve made friends with both students and teachers in a few short days and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”
James Dawson
"KEGs is a brilliant college. The subjects can get tricky, but if you listen to the experts advice, good grades are more than capable! I am loving my time at Kegs so far and meeting new friends is brilliant"
Rachel Dunnill - Higham Lane
"Hi I’ve been at King Edward VI college for three years, this year is my second year of A2 because the first year I re sat my GCSE. The one thing I found at KEC is that all teachers are helpful and other members of staff are always friendly . Academic Services has been excellent for me, they’ve organised one to one support so I could receive extra help with my studies. Overall KEC is a college where students can have confidence in the teachers and if you have personal problems staff members will all ways try their best to help you overcome those problems."
James Birch, previous school North Warwickshire and Hinckley College
"I suffer with M.E (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and I was obviously worried about not getting the support I needed before I came to this college. I previously went to St. Thomas More in Nuneaton. I did get support there but nothing like the support I’m getting at this college. Even though I still struggle from time to time, I know I will always be able to talk to the support co-ordinator. So far she has sorted out every problem I have had. I don’t personally think anyone with my illness or any other illnesses should ever worry about the support in this college, because it is amazing. I don’t think I would be able to cope as well as I do without it! As well as the support here, the college itself is very good. All of my teachers are lovely and are always willing to help me succeed the best way they can."
Naomi Bray, previous school St Thomas More
"I've settled in really well. The last two weeks have been great - I've already met new people, made new friends and started the subjects i love (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science and Geography). I think that the extra bit of freedom and the fact that it is much less formal than secondary school is brilliant. The college itself is very open, with plenty of space to study and do homework, as well as having plenty of staff to help with any queries. There is an amazing variety of subjects and enrichment courses so I doubt that I will get bored."
Victoria Brown - Higham Lane
"So far, College has been very welcoming and I have been impressed with the hygiene of the college in comparison to my High School. Lessons are interesting and I love the free study periods, it gives me so much more time to get my work done before I go home "
Cherry Povall - Higham Lane
"A warm, and welcoming college. With a rich learning environment."
Thomas Sharrock - Higham Lane
"This college has offered a great new start for me so far. Having chosen to come to Nuneaton to go here instead of my local college, I have been anything but disappointed. Settling in has been almost effortless and all the teachers are extremely enthusiastic about their subjects."
Kathryn Parkins - John Cleveland
"I've found the transition from school to college a lot easier than I thought I would, the teachers are really helpful and make it clear to everybody that if you need help with anything, all you have to do is ask. I think the workshops are a great way to catch up on anything you have missed or just don't understand. "
Saskia Snow - Higham Lane
"Personally I really enjoy college life. I think I have adapted well to the new lifestyle and I feel that so far the college has done its best to help us first year students feel comfortable and happy at King Edward College. I love the free periods that give us a chance to unwind and also give us the time to read over notes etc. before the next lesson. "
Sabrina Kapadia - Higham Lane
"I've found it a really hard step up in work load and difficulty but have already been supported so much. I've been given extra tuition and workshops and feel more comfortable and able to achieve what I came here to do."
Alice McCormack - Manor Park

Danielle Keen - Higham Lane
"I have really enjoyed my first few weeks at K.E.C., I absolutely love the new environment, and everybody is very friendly. The independence you are able to have here is a great thing about the college because you get the trust and independence you want and need that you didn’t get in school and as well as independence you can have as much help as you want and need without any problems. Also the academic services in the college are extremely helpful because you can have friendly and confidential advice if we need them and you can talk to them about anything. It’s a great place to be."
Richard Kelly, previous school St Thomas More
"I've found the college to be really welcoming. There are many people who I feel are approachable to talk to within the college if I have any problems and this has been made aware to us in both lessons and tutorials. Also, my teachers are very supportive and helpful with the work that needs to be completed which really helps me to feel comfortable and positive about the upcoming academic year. "
Daniel Griffiths - Higham Lane
"I'm really enjoying my AS Level Programme. The teachers are great and are completely willing to help you outside of class if you need it. It's a friendly place and lots of fun."
Kate Pargetor - Higham Lane

"My comments and first impressions of kegs:
• The staff are well organized.
• Great facilities and materials e.g. toilets, computers, library, café.
• Good support from student services and study centre.
• Helpful teachers.
• Nice people around college.
• People in lessons want to be there so we all can focus on learning without any distractions from people who don’t care.
• Different learning styles which can be helpful in memory aid for exams."
